Mark Donnell grew up in the Willamette Valley, Oregon and the high desert of Central Oregon. His acting career started with television commercials but then he had some small parts when the opportunity came from theatrical release films. His time and exposure to that environment brought on his next move at screenplay writing. He read 'The Postman' and thought he could write one just as good. Maybe better. He had already started a script that would eventually be the feature film 'Extremely Used Cars: There Is No Hope.' He had the chance to film it in LA with an established film production company but ultimately decided to go independent, trying his luck like Kevin Smith, Ben Afflect, Matt Damon and Sylvester Stallone did -- write and star in a feature film to launch your career. Although EUC had some good film festival reviews and was the opener for the 'Laugh Or Die Comedy Fest' in Chicago, the film never got distribution. He also has a passion for bodybuilding that came from watching 'Conan The Barbarian.' He is still a huge Arnold Schwarzenegger fan and still trains but now it's just for fun. It may also be something a role will call for if they film another '300' where they need 50 year old muscle bound warriors.
