Yamaç Okur graduated from Bogaziçi University, Department of International Relations and Political Science in 1998. After working as a consultant in the private sector for a while between 1999-2001, he became one of the founders of Altyazi Monthly Cinema Magazine, which started its publication life in October 2001. Between 2003 and 2013, he worked in various positions at Bogaziçi University Mithat Alam Film Center and had a share in the institutionalization of the Film Centre. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Mithat Alam Education Foundation, which gave scholarships to film graduate students between 2008 and 2013. In 2007, he founded Bulut Film, which aims to make feature films together with Nadir Öperli, Seyfi Teoman and Enis Köstepen. The films he produced returned with awards from many important festivals and received support from public funds from Turkey and Europe. He became one of the founders of the New Cinema Movement, a platform created by directors and producers, whose main purpose is communication and solidarity among its members. He took an active role in the establishment of the Istanbul Film Festival Meetings on the Bridge Joint Production and Project Development Platform and was a member of the Advisory Board between 2008-2013. Between 2013 and 2015, he served in the Cinema Films Support Board of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, General Directorate of Cinema. He was the coordinator of the Antalya Film Forum, which is the co-production and project development market of the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival in its first year. He has been on the Board of Directors of the Cinema Producers Professional Association (SE-YAP) since 2011. Since March 2015, he has been working as a producer for Ay Yapim, one of the most important production companies in Turkey.
