Born in West Virginia, Debra pursued training in her first love, music. She received a BFA in vocal performance and studied with Jane Hobson. She always had a love for acting and sought to meld the two. While pursing a graduate degree at West Virginia University, she did just that. She was cast in a production of Twelfth Night, with guest director Robert Brewer. She was a lady in waiting and sang and acted in the production. He welcomed her to watch as many rehearsals as possible and it was a great learning experience. While performing with an early music ensemble in Boston, MA, the opportunity to live in NYC presented itself, and she took it. Upon arrival, she landed an international tour of Man Of La Mancha, playing The Housekeeper. The television bug hit when she was cast on the hit NBC show, ED, with Tom Cavanagh. She was cast as Ms. Cassell in the short film, Like Your Brother, which screened at The Cannes Film Festival. She was cast in the semi-improv web series, Method Or Madness as Joan, The Therapist.
