Born and raised in the Cajun bayou areas of Southeast Texas, Josette was a bright only child with a difficult life. Her father, Joseph was a mechanic for the most of his life. A series of injuries from working on oil rigs resulted in him having to do odd jobs, such as handyman work, shrimping, and lawn keeping just to help the family survive. Her mother, Linda, named Josette from both her father's name and her favorite TV show--Dark Shadows. Linda was a proud "half breed", with Irish, Scottish, and Native American roots. Unfortunately Linda was born with severe scoliosis, which kept her from achieving her dream of becoming a nurse. During the times that her father was either gone offshore for work or her mother was in the hospital, Josette was raised by other family members. Some of these relatives were abusive. Others were just strange. To mentally escape her environment, Josette gravitated towards music, acting, and movies early on. But she never took any theater classes in school because she felt "like too much of an outcast, even for the outcasts." After earning many music awards and scholarships in high school, music education was going to be her career. Then, a young pregnancy and marriage producing three children--along with the death of her mother--put any lifelong music or acting dreams on hold. She finished college and became a nurse to both provide for her family and to make her parents (and especially her mother) proud. But she never stopped longing for the life that could have been. She then spent a long period of time moving throughout the US with her military husband--from NY, to the Midwest, then to the Deep South. It was her move to the Georgia area in 2015 that coincided with the start of the Atlanta entertainment boom. This became a catalyst for Josette's reemergence in the acting industry.
