Kimberly is a filmmaker based in Oregon. After earning degrees in pre-med and biology at Colorado college, and in the midst of working on her masters degree at National University of Naturopathic Medicine, Kimberly picked up a camera for the first time in her life and abruptly changed the course of her life. Telling stories, educating and evoking conversation through images and film became her passion. Kimberly has written, shot, directed and edited narrative films, corporate brand videos, with a focus on telling brand stories and creatively communicating product and service propositions. She's written and directed two of her own narrative short films and both have screened at film festivals globally and garnered numerous awards. In 2016, Kimberly developed MdDS, an incurable neurological disorder that manifests as a feeling of constant rocking, bobbing or swaying. While the disorder is incurable, she has spent the last three years learning to persevere despite her constant perception of motion. The idea of being able to live a purpose-driven life in the midst of nearly constant discomfort fascinated her. Bringing together her background in science and medicine, and skillful storytelling abilities, in late 2019 she began working on a feature length documentary titled Unfixed which focuses on individuals who are in various stages of learning to thrive while suffering debilitation and the underlying potential of the human spirit. Between collaborating with her Unfixed documentary team and working a small, sustainable homestead with her husband in rural Oregon, she edits films for Lake Productions and volunteers for a palliative care program in Portland, creating life review videos for patients.
