Actor Tony Mitchell has a passion for the arts as deep as his voice. It also encompasses his strong love for filmmaking, cartoons, music and even ministry. He's a graduate of New York's High School of Art & Design and earned a BFA in filmmaking from the School of Visual Arts. Tony's other talents are as an announcer, voice-over actor, Host: live/on-camera/radio, and public speaker. His performances include acting and some singing roles in acclaimed works like "Dreamgirls", "Christ Lives After All", "A Raisin In the Sun", "A Soldier's Play", and "Christmas in New York" at notable venues like the Lamb's Theatre, the Brooklyn Music School and Lincoln Center. He also serves as a drama team ensemble member at Brooklyn, NY's Christian Cultural Center (CCC) under the direction of 1982 Tony Award winner Ben Harney and was their service announcer for eight years where he ministered and performed before a live audience of 4,000 to 12,000 people weekly. His distinctive baritone-bass voice talent, has yielded him as a top ten finalist in the NBA's Brooklyn Nets Arena Announcer competition in 2012. As a writer, director and producer Tony has collaborated and produced various video shorts, music videos and commercials for the CCC Sports Network, International Christian Brotherhood Fraternity (ICB) where he serves as a community service and events team leader, the Doritos Crash the Super Bowl campaign and the former VCA Teletronics / The Image Group Post-Production video facilities. At times, Tony contributes his talent as an artist as well. He's done cartoon illustrations and character design for Beth Burrows' children's book series "Adventures of Nathaniel" and the graphic conceptual design of ICB's shield crest logo and also designed theater backgrounds, backdrops, props and set pieces for various stage plays with Ben Harney's Bamss Theater Works.
