Brian Nesbit

Born Brian Douglas Nesbit. He is a writer, producer and director best known for the web series "Pivot Point". Also, "Right to Remain Silent" (2011), "Premise of Duality" (2009), and for his collaboration on the award winning series "C.E.O." (2014). Mr. Nesbit began his directorial career with the short film "Premise of Duality" (1999), in which he later produced a remake of the same title in 2009. Born in 1966 in Groton, CT to Joseph Nesbit and Joyce Pender Nesbit. Joseph Nesbit served in the Navy so Brian spent his younger years in various ports: Washington state, Hawaii, San Diego and ultimately Charleston, SC where Joseph retired. Nesbit then went to middle school and high school in Georgetown, SC. Nesbit excelled in school, where he was the valedictorian of the Howard High School class of 1984. In addition, he play in the high school marching band where he won numerous awards for his musicianship. But after watching the 1978 film "Superman the Movie", he aspired to become an actor. His first acting role was as an extra in the 1984 PBS film "Tales of the Unknown South". But he didn't pursue that passion after high school. Instead, he joined the Army (then later Air Force) ROTC program when he attended South Carolina State University (formerly South Carolina State College) from 1984-1988. Getting his commission as a 2nd LT in the Air Force, he went on to become a Nuclear Missile Officer, stationed at Ellsworth AFB in Rapid City, SD. After leaving the Air Force in 1994, Nesbit decided to pursue acting again. He signed with John Robert Powers in Denver, CO. However, he felt the agency wasn't actively pushing his profile out to potential casting agents when projects came through Denver. So Nesbit decided to look into working behind the camera as a producer and director instead. When asked why he decided to be a director, he often says "Because clearly I suck as an actor...so directing is the next best thing..." In 1999, Nesbit wrote and directed his first short film, "Premise of Duality" and premiered it on DCTV in Denver, CO. By his own account, everything about the film was bad: directing, sound, lighting, etc...everything. But after it premiered, he garnered enough praise as a first time filmmaker to continue on as a director. His next film was called "Secrets" in 2000. After a series of short films and commercial projects, Nesbit was hired to direct his first full-length film called "Hard to Find" in 2008, and then the remake of "Premise of Duality" in 2009. In 2011, Nesbit wrote, produced and directed "Right to Remain Silent", a film about a woman who suspects her abusive husband is also a serial rapist. In 2013, Nesbit wrote and directed Season 1 of a web series called "Pivot Point", a 9-episode futuristic story about a man who has to kill a man who's son (Joshua Parker) will grow up to be the worst mass murderer in history. Season 2 would follow in 2014...a 12-episode series that follows the pregnant mother to Joshua and the 2 groups looking for her. One to prevent the birth and save humanity, the other to let Parker continue his foreseen destiny. The series was originally planned to end with Season 2, but the local popularity of Pivot Point prompted Brian to write and produce Season 3 of "Pivot Point" in 2016. Joshua, now 16, struggles with his identity as dark forces try to move him towards his path of killing thousands of children. In 2014, actor and producer Antwon Temoney, hired Nesbit to film and direct the 3rd (and subsequent) episodes of the crime series "C.E.O." which then went on to win numerous DC awards. C.E.O. featured cameos by Omar Gooding and Eric Roberts. Temoney also tapped Nesbit to direct and write the screenplay for his novel "Back to Zero". Filming began in 2019, but because of COVID-19, filming was suspended in 2020. Production for new episodes of "C.E.O" and "Back 2 Zero" is expected to resume in late 2021. In 2020, Nesbit wrote and directed a short mini-series called "Born at Night" about a woman who seeks revenge on the men who abused her in a sex-trafficking ring. The series became a finalist in the DTLA film festival for screenwriting and is on Amazon Prime.
