Laëtitia Eïdo

Writer | Actress
Date of birth : 10/25/1985
City of birth : France

Often described as "a young Meryl Streep" due to her versatility and tendency to steal all her scenes, French actress Laëtitia Eïdo shocked the world with her heart-wrenching performance as Shirin El-Abed, an embattled doctor caught in the middle of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict on Netflix's highly acclaimed series, "'Fauda (2015)'." Born and raised in France, to a French father and a Lebanese mother, her ambiguous ethnicity enables her to bring many different nationalities to life. Laëtitia has delivered award winning performances, including 5 Best Actress Awards, in more than 10 languages. Her penchant for artistic endeavors began as a little girl, when she won several prestigious contests in both drawing and writing, with one of her creations being exhibited in the Eiffel Tower, as part of a worldwide professional design contest when she was just a teenager. Her love of acting came to light early as well, as she spent a good portion of her childhood putting on elaborate skits, readily transforming into all kinds of bold and dynamic characters. Referred to by critics as a "standout actress," "the beating heart of Fauda's series," "sensual," and "fiercely funny," Laëtitia was classically trained in Paris and New York, from Peter Brook's to Jacques Lecoq's theater companies. She then immersed herself in the Meisner technique, which completely transformed her approach to acting. Known for her intense, unforgettable, and emotionally evocative performances, Eïdo prepares meticulously for each role, leaving no detail untouched. Over the course of her career, Laëtitia has had many main and lead parts, most recently giving a stellar performance in the Apple TV+ French and English language series "'Liaison (2023)'," starring alongside Vincent Cassel and Eva Green. In 2024, Laëtitia will once again star with Eva Green in Martin Campbell's ("Casino Royale," "Goldeneye") next feature "Dirty Angels." She is also expected to appear in Terrence Malick's highly anticipated "'The Way of the Wind'," as well as alongside Aaron Eckhart in upcoming spy thriller "Chief of Station," in the independent Belgian film "The Virgin and child," and in the French timely action movie "Fatum." Having the rare ability to flawlessly navigate between art-house films, action-packed series, and projects from major American studios, as well as being a regular on the theater circuit, Laëtitia remarked that, "acting for me is constantly delving into the mysteries of the human soul and finding the purest way to convey emotions as a healing channel for the audience."
