Tom spent part of his youth between 1982 and 1988 at Leverstock Green, near Hemel Hempstead in Hertfordshire, England. He attended one of the primary schools in the village, "Westwick School" down Green Lane. Westwick School, and the C of E Primary School in Pancake Lane, amalgamated in 1985 at the Westwick School site, when its name was changed to Leverstock Green Primary School. Tom played with the local Junior Team, Hoobs Hill Hornets which would meet on Sunday's in the grounds of Hobbs Hill Wood School, Peascroft Road. The family moved to Berkshire in 1988 with Tom eventually attending Nottingham University (Nottinghamshire). After graduating Tom worked in London for a while and then travelled extensively before moving to the States and living in New York.
