David Balbi

Son to Maria do Rosário Balbi (1969-) Master of Wardrobe and Techincal supervisor in the greatest Portuguese theateres and Viriato Almeida (no info) and grandson and nephew to a singer and actress, respectively, it was no wonder in a family so connected to the arts, David soon started his career in amateur theater productions near where he grew up in Alcantara, near the center of Lisbon, earning his first professional role in A Canção de Lisboa, from there to acting school (ESCOLA PROFISSIONAL DE TEATRO DE CASCAIS) AND Then on to TV but mostly theatre. Working for five years in Teatro Experimental de Cascais in every position from tickets to actor, to production and HR. His directorial debut was in 2015 with AUTOS DE VIOLÊNCIA, written and directed by him. After 2015 he has been focusing as a writter, accepting some roles in televison but mostly on stage.
