Misono

Misono is a Japanese pop singer who has seldom acted. She followed her older sister Koda Kumi into the music business, but she has not achieved the sales or fame of her sister (who has been a superstar in Japan for over a decade). In an industry in which performers often try to capitalize on any association they have with someone more famous, Misono made the unusual choice to de-emphasize her connection to Koda Kumi by using only her first name professionally. So she is known as Misono, not Koda Misono. (In Japan names precede given names.) Misono made her professional debut in 2002 as part of the group Day After Tomorrow. She became a solo performer in 2006 when the group broke up. She has released several top 10 singles and 6 albums.
