David has been involved in filmmaking since he was twelve when he began making stop-motion shorts. He has made several short films that have gone on to be included in Phoenix FIlm Festival, Seattle International Film Festival, among others. He worked on the set of the music video "International Harvester" by Craig Morgan. He speaks Japanese. As well as filmmaking, David is also works part-time as a professional photographer.
