Wildlife filmmaker, producer and owner of Camera Q. Stefan has specialized in working with animals, nature and diverse cultures since 1976. He has worked and filmed in more than 40 different countries over the years. Recently he has concentrated on Kodiak, Alaska; Egypt; and Sri Lanka. But he has also film much in Sweden and many countries in Europe. Stefan Quinth has produced a long list of films that have been aired on Swedish and International Television. Born in Sweden, Stefan began filming at an early age. He sold his first film to television when he was seventeen. Tarzan - Son of Moose, was a satiric drama of a forest hero. After a year long course in directing he began working with Swedish Television's Nils Dahlbeck, a well-known t..v. personality who specialized in nature documentaries. In 1976, at the age of 19, Stefan started his own production company. During the 80's Camera Q produced documentaries about countries in Europe, Africa, North America and Asia. We have also produced documentaries portraying interesting people and cultures such as The Wooden Shoe Maker, Ahukuntakayos - The Snake People, Egypt's Forgotten People. In the 90's our attention turned toward Asia and the plight of Sri Lanka's diminishing elephant population, and to Kodiak, Alaska, the home of the giant Kodiak bear. Today Camera Q has an office in Sweden and one in Kodiak, Alaska. We continue to document the people around us who have a positive view on life and the situations they encounter. We focus on animals and environments that the average person will never encounter, but that have a great deal to add to the diversity of life on this planet. Recent productions include; "The Colorado River", 17 years in the making and dealing with one of the world's most exploited rivers; "My Grandfather was a Tribal Chief"- about PK , born an "untouchable" in India, who fell in love with a young Swedish girl and bicycled to Sweden to be with her.; and "Deadly Passion - the Tragedy on Katmai" covering the tragic deaths of Timothy Treadwell and Amy Heugenard as well as two coastal brown bears in Katmai's national park. Our mission is to produce films that entertain as well as inform, and that leave the viewer with a feeling of hope, rather than despair, for the future.
