Brian began his career at WTTW/PBS, where he worked on the acclaimed documentary anthology series "Chicago Stories" and the highly rated feature documentaries "The New River Tour" with Geoffrey Baer and "The Seven Wonders of Chicago". Brian co-produced, shot and edited the Showtime comedy documentary, Phunny Business (2011), which received critical acclaim from The NY Times, Hollywood Reporter, The Onion, and The Guardian (UK). Legendary movie critic Roger Ebert called it, "one of the best documentaries of the year". Brian produced and directed the environmental documentary "Everglades of the North", which inspired a National Wildlife Refuge and water trail; and edited "Shifting Sands", a documentary that helped create the Indiana Dunes National Park in 2019. He produced and edited the feature documentary, "The 25,000 Mile Love Story", narrated by Oscar© winner John Ridley and currently streaming on Amazon. He produced and edited two Emmy© Award winning WWII documentaries, both narrated by Bill Kurtis: "Heroes on Deck", which the New York Times called, "catnip for aviation nerds", and "A City At War", winner of the Chicago International Television Festival Gold Plaque for Best Non-fiction Program. He is developing "American Time Bomb", a documentary centered around the bloody 1971 Attica Prison uprising. Brian lives in Los Angeles with his wife and small menagerie.
