Ellery Klein

Ellery Klein is a classically trained at the School for Creative and Performing Arts in Cincinnati, Ohio, who went on to earn a B.S. in Geology from the University of Vermont and a graduate certificate in Geographic Information System, before then receiving a masters in Irish Traditional Music Performance from the University of Limerick's Irish World Music Center (2001). Having performed in many Irish ensembles, she was most notably the fiddler for Gaelic Storm (2003-2007). After that she co-founded the Boston-based all-female vocal and instrumental group Long Time Courting. Along with flute player Nicole Rabata and guitarist Bethany Waickman she continues to perform as the Irish trio Fodhla. She now teaches Irish/Celtic fiddle styles as well as violin in Boston, as well as elsewhere in the United States and in Ireland. Also, she composes modern music for competitive Irish dancing in partnership with Gaelic Storm's drummer Ryan Lacey.
