Bruce Fordyce, who was born in Hong Kong, became a South African marathon and ultra-marathon athlete. He broke a record by winning the South African Comrades Marathon nine times, eight of which in sequence. In 1989, the makers of the candid camera film You're Famous (1989) enlisted him to foot race fellow South Africans for money by dressing him up as an "old lady", thus tricking them to easily accept the challenge and end up losing to an "old lady", who was actually a record breaking foot racer.
