Ashley Henyan

Originally form Corning, NY and now a resident of Atlanta, GA, Ashley graduated at the top of her class from Southern New Hampshire University with an M.A. in English and Creative Writing with a concentration in Screenwriting. In 1998, she accepted an athletic scholarship to attend the University of Maryland, College Park, and in 2002 graduated with a B.A. in Government and Politics. In addition to continuing her graduate studies and writing her first novel (MFA 2020), Ashley works full time as a Communications Manager and Spokesperson with the American Red Cross. During 2017, her work scripting live events for the Red Cross helped to raise more than two million dollars in donations. She has written for the Mayor of Los Angeles - Mayor Eric Garcetti, CA State Assembly Member Blanca E. Rubio, Mark Brown, Elisabeth Rohm, Larry Paul, The San Diego Chargers, The Walt Disney Company and members of the Harlem Globetrotters. Ashley is a member of NAIWE, The Atlanta Writers Club, the National Society of Leadership and Success and the International English Honor Society. Her fiction can be read in The Tower Journal and her non-fiction in the Penmen Review, The Borgen Blog, Borgen Magazine, RedCrossLATalks.org, RedCrossLA.org, Red Cross Chat, RedCross.org/Georgia and the Official CA Apartment Journal.
