Reggie Britt

Actor
Date of birth : 05/04/1967
City of birth : Smithfield, North Carolina, USA

Reggie was born on May 4, 1967 to Jimmie Britt Sr. and Rosa (Chappell) Britt in Smithfield, North Carolina. After acquiring a job at General Motors his father moved the family to Flint, Michigan. Reggie enjoyed his childhood along side his brother, Jimmy ("June"). His mom made sure to keep her boys busy and out of trouble. Reggie found sports to be his niche. Athletics were deeply embedded in the Britt family. Reggies's uncle, Wyman Britt, was a All-American guard for the University of Michigan and played pro for the Detroit Pistons in 1976-77. In high school Reggie played baseball and football, however, his true love was basketball. It was on the court where Reggie felt most comfortable and through his discipline and hard work he earned a scholarship to Coffeyville Community College. While playing for the Red Ravens he caught the eye of then Kansas State coach, Lon Kruger. The same work ethic and determination earned him his second scholarship to Kansas State where he played 2 years as a reliable reserve forward. He jumped at the opportunity to travel all over Europe playing professionally for numerous European teams such as; Portugal, Sweden, Norway, Germany and Belgium. After returning to the U.S. he found his way to Florida and was working in real estate. It was the sudden down turn of the market that forced him to look for other avenues for income. Many of his family members and friends encouraged him to try the entertainment industry...that's where he found his next love...acting. Beginners luck was on his side as he landed many of the first jobs he auditioned for. He was "scanned" at the register like a piece of lumber in a national commercial for Home Depot, sold sunglasses and was featured in a beer commercial for Red Stripe. He began to search out any opportunity he could find. He eventually found himself auditioning for a film "How To Be A Loan Shark" and landed the role of "Mikey". He has embraced the notion that he was made to do this...there's no turning back now.
