Rupert Barker

Rupert was born in Salisbury, England. Fascinated from an early age by old science fiction and horror films he started shooting his own short movies on Super 8. His first attempt at a film was 'Wastes' (1984) - an eerie drama about the coming of a new ice age. He has continued to make short films whilst having a parallel career as a producer on NBC's Today Show. He has two Emmies for work on that show where he concentrates on special features - ranging from history and science stories to a travel series with Ben Fogle. His personal work includes the documentary feature 'Mysterious Britain' (1997), a spoof horror film 'Crest of Fear', 'The Gull of Shame' and a kids zombie short called 'Seaside Shocker' (2016). Right now he is editing another children's film, 'Dive to Doom' and shooting a drama about the last person left on Earth called 'The Man in The Van'. He has a passion for history and the unusual.
