Michael L. Suan

Michael is a Canadian filmmaker based in Toronto. Originally from Shanghai, he immigrated to Canada at a very young age with his family, where he would set his roots and later pursue a career in film. Michael is fluent in multiple Asian languages and likes to work on projects that help bridge both Eastern and Western Cultures. He's a big fan of stoic cinema with minimal dialogue and is heavily influenced by the European art-house romances of the 50s and 60s. His favorite filmmakers are Kieslowski, Malick and Kar Wai. His favorite film is The Double Life of Véronique.
