Craig Gunn (born 1972) is an actor/writer living in Dartmouth Nova Scotia. After a degree from the Royal Military College in Kingston Ontario, he then moved to Halifax and studied acting at Dalhousie University from 1997-2000. In the three years following he worked full time as an actor with Shakespeare by the Sea Festival and then with the Irondale Ensemble Project in Halifax. The ensemble theatre work helped him to develop as a writer, and in 2003 he wrote and performed in his own Fringe Show which became a "Fringe Hit" at the Atlantic Fringe Festival. In 2006 he started to collaborate with Angus Swantee on film productions as a writer and an actor. The most notable has been their recent success with Torturous (2012) in 2012 which went on to screen at over 75 film festivals worldwide, secure 12 film award nominations and win 8 of those awards including best actor for Craig in a film festival in Montreal, called The Mascara and Popcorn Film Festival, and best Short Film at the 2014 Canadian Comedy awards. His most recent role was as teacher and father, Alex Crowley, in the coming of age film The Only Game in Town, set to release in 2016.
