Travis Lee Ratcliff is an independent filmmaker based in Austin, Texas. His documentary and narrative work has been featured in film festivals across the United States and by online outlets including Short of the Week, Nowness, Booooooom, No Film School, Criterion, Film School Rejects, and Sight & Sound Magazine. He has received support and recognition by the Cultural Arts Division of the City of Austin for his work profiling Texan artists. His short documentary film, "In the Space Between Ages," was featured in the SXSW film festival and received a Vimeo Staff Pick, premiering online through Short of the Week. When he's not writing or directing projects, he is engaged in film theory and criticism work through his ongoing film history documentary series "LUX." He has also programmed the experimental screening series, "The Apiary," and "Cinema Underground" in Austin. As a narrative director his focus is on experimental character driven stories that examine contemporary Texan identity and the problematic legacy of the myth of the West.
