Tommie Jessie started as a child actor in the mid 1990's appearing in short films along with one of his first roles playing a bit part in the first episode of Nickelodeon's "The Mystery Files Of Shelby Woo". He also has performed on stage in theater productions and gospel plays. As the millennium came around, he began to focus less time on acting and more on working full time to support his family as he was earning his associates degree from Hillsborough Community College in Tampa, Florida. He eventually transferred to The University Of Central Florida in Orlando in the fall of 2002 and graduated in December, class of 2006 with a Bachelor's Degree in Film Studies and a Minor in Spanish Language. In the late summer of 2007, Tommie left Orlando, Florida for New York to try his shot at working in production in Television. Six weeks after arriving to New York City, he landed his first Production Assistant job on the NBC reality show "The Apprentice" (Celebrity Apprentice). He has continued to work on various American programs over the years. In 2014, Tomme Jessie got back on the audition circuit while continuing to work behind the scenes on various movies and television shows. He began booking roles for short films, mystery shows for cable television and theater. During the early part of 2017, Tommie landed a lead role as an UBER driver in the Meir Kay short film "People Are Like Garbage Trucks", a film that gained him worldwide recognition. "I walk into a local bodega(convenience store) and the attendant shouted, "Here's the big movie star! Neighbors would recognize me. I would walk into the grocery store and the cashier would remember me from the film. I had one friend and a family member that separately sent me text messages with the short film. One received it from his mother in Africa while my uncle here in New York received it from a friend in his native country, Grenada! I was in awe and was not expecting to be in the spotlight. It was a blessing to be known from a project that has a long lasting positive element". Tommie went on to work on three more projects with the 2017 top 40 Millennial Producer/Director Meir Kay, however "People Are Like Garbage Trucks" would be Tommie Jessie's most noteable project with Meir Kay.
