An unlikely combination of a father from India and an Italian-American mother, Denzil grew from the "Rocky" movie neighborhoods of South Philadelphia and South Jersey. A rebel at an early age, Denzil co-founded The Roach, his high school's first underground newspaper. A nimble and physical performer, Denzil has improvised with Bay Area Theatre Sports in San Francisco and Matt Quinn/Theatre Asylum's Tilted Frame ensemble. He also dances contact improvisation, has trained in theatre clown, and toured India working as a clown with Dreamtime Circus. At the Darkroom Theatre in San Francisco, he adapted and directed for the stage a 1961 Twilight Zone episode ("Will the Real Martian Please Stand Up?"). He also wrote and co-directed an stage adaptation of the 80's legendary underground comic "Zippy The Pinhead". The play was voted one of the year's 10 Best of the Bay. At the Darkroom, Denzil counts as highlights 2 once-in-a-lifetime roles: as the Unknown Comic in a Gong Show revival, and impersonating Jerry Seinfeld in a 30 minute "lost episode" Twilight Zone. Denzil lives in Los Angeles with his dog Lord Chesterfield, and is the switch-hitting shortstop for the Crown Valley Royals softball team.
