Tom Loveman is the award-winning, LA-based writer and producer of the short films "Reclamation" and "Synesthesia," which, combined, have appeared in over 80 film festivals, including the San Diego Independent International Film Festival, and won numerous awards and nominations. "Reclamation" won Best Sci-Fi/Fantasy short in the 2018 Burbank International Film Festival. Tom was a Top 10 Finalist in the 2017 Playstation Emerging Filmmaker Program and a finalist in the Beverly Hills Screenwriting Competition in 2013. Besides writing and producing his shorts, Tom also edited the films and produced some of the visual effects. A graduate of Indiana University, Tom started his college education as a Music Education major, but, after two years, changed to Journalism and pursued his love of visual communications. He was the first staff member of the "Indiana Daily Student" campus newspaper to design ads using desktop publishing on a Mac. Getting his B.A. in Journalism in 1992, Tom spent 20 years working in advertising and marketing in Cleveland, Akron and Chicago. He edited his first videos at Malone Advertising in 1995 cutting commercials for Goodyear. In 2003, aspiring writer/producer/director Anthony Samangy asked Tom to help produce a short film. That led to Tom producing several more award-winning shorts, music videos and a documentary. Tom wrote his first TV pilot, an international action/drama, in 2007 with Hot Lather Productions partner Trish Sgro. They then co-created the sitcom "Julio," and produced the pilot episode in Cleveland. Moving to Los Angeles in 2012, Tom added feature films to his portfolio. He also co-hosts the weekly writers' podcast "Writers Group Therapy" (http://www.writersgrouptherapy.com/) and co-leads a writers group in North Hollywood.
