Jess Varley

Jess Varley is a filmmaker from Brooklyn, NY. She graduated from LaGuardia High School and NYU Tisch, and began her career acting in commercials, TV and movies. She has developed shows with networks including ABC and FX, most recently writing, directing, and producing alongside Defiant Studios and the Radio Silence team (READY OR NOT, SCREAM 5), the horror anthology movie PHOBIAS. Her upcoming feature film THE ASTRONAUT, which she is writing and directing, is a sci-fi body horror movie that explores the theme of belonging. Jess can also be seen in Mickey Keating's upcoming film, OFFSEASON which premiered at SXSW 2021. Through her work, Jess hopes to emerge as one of the leading female voices in the genre space, thrilling audiences with both scares and social commentary.
