Bill Williams was raised on Long Island. His first production at age 13, 'Backwards Stuff' grossed over two dollars. That led to other amateur films and involvement with high school theater lighting and set construction. Bill graduated from New York University in 1973 and worked as a missile guidance engineer until in 1988 the desire to be involved in the video and film industry led to the formation of A Cut Above Video Productions, Inc. In 1999 Bill produced a documentary for the Library of Congress' Local Legacies Project, that documents how the Space Program affected the area surrounding Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral Air Force Station over the first 50 years of space launches. That 56-minute documentary, 'Thrust into Space,' was produced, shot and edited by Bill. Today Bill runs A Cut Above Video and occasionally attempts to escape into the world of creative productions, as with the video 'a(t)tempting escape' and other short and long-form productions.
