Sharon Shattuck

Sharon Shattuck is an Emmy-nominated documentary film director and podcast host. Her feature film Picture A Scientist (2020) was an official selection of the 2020 Tribeca Film Festival, and was nominated for a 2022 News & Documentary Emmy in the category Outstanding Science and Technology Documentary. From This Day Forward (2015) was a New York Times Critic's Pick, broadcast on POV (PBS) and was distributed on Netflix, SundanceNow, Amazon, iTunes and VHX. She's the co-host of the Gimlet/Spotify podcast Conviction: American Panic, and the co-creator of the New York Times Op-Docs science series 'Animated Life,' which was nominated for a 2016 Creative Arts Emmy. Her work has appeared on PBS, Netflix, National Geographic Channel, Vice, The New York Times, The Atlantic, Slate, ProPublica, Spotify, and Radiolab. She has degrees in forest ecology and journalism.
