Kunal Rawal is a Menswear designer who started his career in 2006 after graduating from London College of Fashion and was one of the youngest designers in India to take on individual feature film projects. Following consistent success as a costume designer and stylist in the Hindi film industry, he launched his namesake label, Kunal Rawal. It is a luxury Indian contemporary brand that has become popular for its non-conformist and multi-functional approach toward design. The brand's embroidery techniques such as French knots, appliquéing, pleating, metallic work, to name a few, have garnered recognition within Indian fashion circuit and beyond. Experimental design aesthetic combined with the designer's expansive knowledge of Indian market has resulted in strong brand positioning for the Label. It has retail presence across three key markets in India: Mumbai, Hyderabad and Delhi. Celebrities like Anil Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Siddharth Malhotra, Varun Dhawan, Prateik Babbar and more have closed fashion shows for Kunal Rawal over the years. The brand has not only been worn by most A Listers in India but also the likes of artist Pharrell Williams, comedian Hasan Minhaj, designer Michael Russo, Edouard Guerrand Hermès of Hermès, Senior VP at Apple Eddy Cue, BOF Founder Imran Ahmed and many more. Kunal has also been closely associated with the Being Human Foundation and his work at Being Human Show at HDIL Couture Week, 2009 was highly appreciated. He has an impressive body of work with an art collaboration with actor Salman Khan. In the past, Kunal has designed a range of apparel and accessories for British automobile company, Ginetta. He has designed a range of on field, off field apparel and merchandise for IPL teams like Rajasthan Royals (2008) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (2012). The designer has worked with multiple lifestyle brands like Koovs for capsule collection of western pieces and automobile brands like Lamborghini and Nissan on curated fashion presentations and CSR initiatives.
