Josiah-Jack Kalian was born in Los Angeles, California. He is the second born of eleven home schooled children. At age six, his father moved the family from California, to Washington State, Texas, and southern Indiana, near the Kentucky border. Baptist preacher turned construction company owner, Josiah-Jack's father employed him full time at age 11. Josiah-Jack was trained as a search and rescue diver/EMT, before joining the army as a combat medic. During his five years in the army. He was stationed in Germany. Deploying to Iraq and Afghanistan. While in Germany he cemented his love for acting, when he performed on stage for the first time. After his honorable discharge he moved to Los Angeles and attended The New York Film Academy, while working on a number of short films. After graduating he became a background regular on The Big Bang Theory, which allowed him to become a member of the Screen Actors Guild. He worked with the Department of Veteran Affairs on a project teaching PTS(D) awareness. And Brazilian clothing company West Coast, for their 30 year anniversary line, in print and a short film. Because of his ability to tell story and army background, he was cast as army medic, Shane Courville, in The Outpost.
