Victor Samuel (S.) Mercieca a Game Designer was born in Detroit Michigan to parents Victor and Diane Mercieca, and he moved to Northern California in 1984. Victor's passion for video games began at a very early age at the dawn of the arcade explosion in the 70's and 80's, he started taking programming classes when he was 8 years old with one goal to make video games. Victor first started using game creation tools at home on his Apple 2E, teaching himself 2D applications. His first experience using 3D tools was at Atari Games Corporation on the arcade game named Steel Talons, he created two single player levels, and one multiplayer level. Victor started as a Game Tester in the home division of Atari named Tengen, over the last three decades he has worked on over 60 products as a Producer, Systems Designer, Level Designer, Cinematics Director and Technical Design Director. Victor's multiplayer level Druckkammern (which is German for "Pressure Chambers") was featured in the Medal of Honor: Spearhead demo to help sell the product. Victor left the video game industry for three years and joined Dreamworks Animation / PDI in MT. View California as a Technical Design Director to design and develop 3D previz "pre-visualization" tools using game engines and other real-time tools from Intel. During his time at Dreamworks he worked on previz shots for four films, Madagascar 2, Monsters vs Aliens, KungFu Panda 2, and How to Train Your Dragon. After leaving Dreamworks Victor started a video game studio named Vexar Games, and has worked as a contractor on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, American McGee's Alice 2: Madness Returns, and a variety of PC, Console, VR, AR, Android, and iOS titles. Living out of Northern California Victor spends 50% of his year working as a video contractor and the other 50% working on his own solo projects where he is doing all jobs related to game creation including VFX, SFX, Programming, Music, Game Design, Level Design, Modeling, UI, and UX tasks.
