James Iles

James Iles is a storyboard artist and illustrator. His career in the film industry started in the UK as storyboard artist for the BBC's Doctor Who. He simultaneously provided storyboards for Hartswood Film's Sherlock television series, starring Benedict Cumberbatch. In 2015, James storyboarded the re-imagined feature film The Crow, working with director Corin Hardy, but the film is on hold due to production company Relativity Media's filing for bankruptcy in the same year. From 2016-2019 James worked as storyboard artist for feature films, advertising, television and video games for companies such as Remedy Games whilst writing and developing a number of his own projects. He has produced a number of short films in Finland and the UK which pay affectionate homage to the practical creature effects films of the 1950's and 1980's, and in 2019 he produced and directed the music video 'Control' for Welsh heavy rock band Pearler.
