Born into an Armenian family in Melbourne, Australia, Ara and his family moved overseas to Japan when he was just 3 years old. Attending his early years of primary school in Hatta, Fukuoka Prefecture, his passion for the pianoforte began. Soon after they then moved to Los Angeles and returned home to Melbourne in the '90s where his musical career flourished, consequently winning his first two titles as Best Conductor's Award in 1997 and 2000, conducting a choir of 400 at the Melbourne Concert Hall. As an aspiring talent in his teenage years, Ara started his training as a Latin American/Ballroom dancer from the late 90's and went on to compete for several years before earning 2 National DanceSport titles at the Australian Institute of Sport and 3 consecutive State titles. Travelling regularly overseas to Europe, the Middle East and the United States, he kept up his training whilst studying a Bachelor of Arts at Monash University. During this time, Ara's career as a celebrity dancer kick-started as a result of his appearances on the hit Australian TV series "Strictly Dancing" on the ABC Network where he made appearances on both Series 1 & 2. After training extensively as a high-graded competitive Latin American DanceSport champion for 6 solid years, he gave up his competitive career at the age of 22 to enter the entertainment industry as a commercial entertainer and to pursue his career as a recording artist. Ara released his debut single "Into the Night" on January 6 2012, with consequent releases "Addicted" and "Fly" in 2013 as well as "We Lost It" and "Take It In" in 2014.
