Andre Phillips

André grew up in a small, diverse, working-class city outside of Boston. While art and writing (and for many years, martial arts) had been a part of his life since childhood, André was introduced to filmmaking as a child. The son of a cinematographer and godson to an editor, André first learned about set life by holding a bounce card at the age of nine. Most of André's work is heavily focused on imbalances in socioeconomic opportunity and the conflicts those imbalances cause. André is passionate to showcase those who are excluded from the wider conversation, while also celebrating and examining the resilience and grace it requires to make it on the edges.
