Carmen Fullmer is an actress from Morgantown, West Virginia. She is known for her role as Barbara in Down in Number 5, directed by Kim Spurlock. The story centers on a man who is pushed to his limits, while trying to find someone who will give refuge to his son with a disability after he is gone. Based on a true story, the film is rooted in the Southern Gothic storytelling tradition. Carmen Lea Fullmer was born on Labor Day to parents Doris Marie (Wilson) and James Allen Fullmer. Doris was a homemaker and James was an engineer for a pharmaceutical company. Ms. Fullmer studied improvisation techniques with an improv group led by Meg Baughman. She received an acting scholarship based on her performance in a regional theater competition. Carmen studied acting at West Virginia University with Ed Herendeen, who later went on to establish the Contemporary American Theater Festival (CATF). Carmen performed in a range of film, promotion, improvisation, and stage roles. In addition, she served as an assistant editor and as production staff on freelance projects, public television productions, and documentaries.
