From New Orleans, Mark spent his early years around the Crescent City, the French Quarter, Mardi Gras and the awesome music, food, and a host of interesting personalities. After his studies in photography, graphic design and print, he spent the next 20 years pursuing his love and passion for a life creating meaningful and practical art. Mark settled near his roots, raised a daughter and a son with Lisa, the love of his life, his wife of 24 years. With experiences in the lithography, sign/print, car manufacturing, pool fencing, woodworking/renovations, sales/management and boat building industries, his strong mechanical understanding, blended well with his knowledge and love for art in most of his early work, as it does today in his present career in the practical Special Effects and Art Department of the Entertainment and Film Industries. Mark has had the pleasure of working with the Best of the Best filmmakers in the industry. From Actors, Producers and Directors, Effects and Stunts, Designers, Prop Masters, Painters and Set Decorators, Electricians and Lighting Specialists, to Location Directors, Production Assistants, Accountants and Coordinators. After two decades in the pyro industry and ten years in IATSE, he's continually learning, working on his knowledge and skill level. Mark has been able to combine his strong mechanical ability, artistic talents, personality and work experiences to navigate and establish himself as a solid special effects technician, pyrotechnician, foreperson and coordinator/supervisor. His love for people and the film process motivates him to continue this crazy journey.
