Walcyr Monteiro

Walcyr Monteiro a professional journalist, having worked and contributed to several newspapers and magazines. He served as professor of secondary and higher education in the disciplines Cultural Anthropology, Economics and Political Science at the Brazilian education. Currently chairs the Centro Paraense de Estudos do Folclore and is secretary of the Instituto Histórico Geográfico do Pará also gives lectures on folklore. His book "Visagens e Assombrações de Belém" has been used as a basis for producing the screenplay for the feature film 'Lendas Amazônicas' (1998), and the short film 'Visagem' (2006).
