Lindsay LaVanchy

Director | Writer | Actress
Date of birth : 10/25/1988
City of birth : St. Louis, Missouri, USA

Lindsay Noelle Windal LaVanchy was born in St. Louis, Missouri. She spent her summers camping, canoeing, and horseback riding in the Ozarks of Lebanon, MO, as well as performing at St. Louis' regional theater, The Muny Opera, the largest outdoor amphitheater in North America. She studied theater at UCLA for her undergraduate degree. She also separately went to Europe to study theater with world renowned teachers in Berlin, Germany, as well as Stromboli, Italy. She filmed the social media/horror/short film "Dembanger". It screened at IFS film festival in Los Angeles winning Best Horror Short. After, she joined the writing team of the feature film version of the same name, and it went into Production in the Spring of 2019. She stars as the lead, and serves as a co-writer and one of the Producers of the film. It was accepted in the SXSW 2020 Film Festival in the Midnighters Narrative Feature competition category. It was renamed Initiation, and CAA and XYZ films handled the sales. With that film's same director, she filmed two additional projects: "The Labyrinth" produced by James Franco with Jason Ritter making a guest appearance; and a commercial/short film for Giorgio Armani, which premiered at The Toronto International Film Festival. She filmed a Comedy Pilot, acting opposite Danny Pudi, called "The Tyler Zone". It was directed by Keith Schofield and produced by The Lonely Island team headed by Andy Samberg. With that same director, she shot a music video for the hit UK band "Bastille". She's performed in multiple TV shows, and Super Bowl and National commercials, one notably directed by Craig Gillespie. In 2016, she starred on stage in the West Coast premiere of Tennessee William's "Baby Doll". It had a sold out 3.5 month run, and LA TIMES theater critic Charles McNulty said of her performance: "The production, however, has a secret weapon in Lindsay LaVanchy, who draws out all the sensuality and sadness, the petulance and helplessness of Baby Doll, the 19-year-old virgin... She coos and pouts and stomps around like a fairy tale princess immured in a tower....". He continues, "...LaVanchy allows us to once again hope that maybe this time romance will live up to its promise and quench the lonely longing." As of January 2020 she began Post-Production on her female focused short film, Trying. She served as the co-writer, co-producer, co-director and was one of two female leads. It is now in script development for the feature. She began script development in the fall of 2019 on a Comedy Pilot involving two female friends moving from Texas to Los Angeles to pursue their wildest dreams- no, not Hollywood.
