Tyra Watts

Tyra was inspired to act by watching Johnny Depp. She has appeared in a number of films, television projects and commercials throughout the Southeast since she started her career in June 2009 as background in Touchstone Pictures' 'TheLast Song', which was directed by Julie Anne Robinson and starred Miley Cyrus. Tyra became SAG eligible with her locker room scene in a Toyota commercial in 2011, which featured NASCAR driver Joey Logano. She is a 2011 BizParentz Foundation CARE (Child Actor RecognitionEvent) Awards winner. The award recognizes child actors, not only for their contribution to the entertainment industry, but also their industry-related training, community service and education. After an offer of representation with Abrams Artists Agency in May 2011 for their commercial division, Tyra relocated to Los Angeles to take her career to the next level. Within weeks, Tyra was 'found' by Avalon Artists Group's owner, and was offered representation in their theatrical division. Tyra was born just outside of Charlotte, North Carolina, and is the daughter of a multi-award-winning motorsports photojournalist and member of the National Motorsports Press Association. She loves to travel, and like most tweens, enjoys swimming, spending time with friends and reading. She is an honor roll student in public school. She continues to be an active participant in her community, getting involved with such projects as feeding the homeless, reading to underprivileged children, recycling awareness and volunteering to help decorate a self-built float for the city of LaCanada - Flintridge in the Tournament of Roses (Rose Bowl) Parade.
