John Trefry

John Trefry is a filmmaker with extensive narrative and documentary credits and having films compete multiple times at prestigious festivals including SXSW, Tribeca and dozens more. John has a proven track record marketing and distributing his work for audiences around the world with partners like HBO Max. His narrative work includes Souls of Totality, starring Tatiana Maslany and Tom Cullen that won 13 awards including winning 3 Oscar-qualifying festivals. John co-created the series 5150 with Denzel Whitaker which starred Jovan Adepo and was executive produced by David Oyelowo. In terms of nonfiction original content, John was a producer for The Need To GROW, a feature documentary narrated by Rosario Dawson and Five Years North, which won the Grand Jury award at DOC NYC. John founded the award-winning production company 4WT Media in 2012 and has a passion for storytelling that creates social change and positive impact, continuing to explore ways to bridge the gap between branded and original content. With a number of original projects in development, John is active producing content for clients including Google, Netflix, 3M and many other exciting brands.
