Pedro Severien was born in 1978, in Recife, Northeast Brazil. With a degree in journalism, he studied filmmaking at the University of Bristol (UK), where he concluded a Masters in Arts with a scholarship by the Chevening Programme-British Council. His short films include Unforgettable carnival (2007), Sane (2009), Song for my sad sister (2012) and Reptile Shop (2014), screened in festivals such as Clermont-Ferrand, Havana, Cartagena, Tiradentes, Brasília, Rio Int'l and the Molodist (Kiev), among others. He's the author of the the book of short stories The Man Whose Body Exploded, and All the colors of the night is his first feature film as a director.
