Frederico Machado is a film buff, film critic, cinematographer, scriptwriter, producer and director. In 2006 he founded the production company Lume Filmes, one of the most important productions company of author films in Brasil. In 2007, Lume Filmes also began distributing films. In only 6 years since it's foundation, Lume Filmes has distributed over 300 films in the Brazilian market of home-video, theatrical releases, VOD and Television, of filmmakers such as Luis Buñuel, David Lynch, Victor Erice, Yasujiro Ozu, Josef Losey, Milcho Manchevski, Kenji Mizoguchi, Jim Jarmusch, Won Kar Wai, Ken Loach, between others. As a filmmaker, he has won over 100 international awards with his films and has participated in film festivals such as Huesca, Cartagena, Dresden, San Diego, São Paulo, Durban, Valencia, between others. He directed the short films Candle to the Crucified (2009), Infernos (2006), and Litany Of The Old Woman (1997). He created the Lume International Film Festival. He is owner of a few movie theaters in Brazil, and also Member of the National Council of ANCINE (Brazilian Film Institute). The Exercise of Chaos, his first feature film, won several awards around the world. The Road of Milk, your second feature, was consider one of the most important films of the year. Dead Leaves, your third feature, won the most important film festival of Brazil in 2017, Mostra Tiradentes.
