Mark "Jeff" Reed, was born Mark Jefferson Reed, in Utah in the mid 1960s. Jeff is a descendant of early Mormon Pioneers who helped settle the Western United States. His father is a gold prospector (geologist) and his mother is a water color artist. Both Jeff's parents were products of the "flower power" movement of the 1960-1970's. In his youth, his family would travel in a VW Bus and would sometimes camp for months at a time, while Jeff would help his Father prospect for gold. Eventually his Father's gold prospecting work would lead the family to live Costa Rica, where his Sister was born, then to Haiti, Denver Colorado, and finally settling in Tucson Arizona in 1978. Jeff's interest in acting, music and songwriting started at a young age. In elementary school, Jeff attended acting workshops at the University of Utah, and starred in a series of regional television commercials for Grand Central Stores, and auditioning for a few movie rolls which were filming locally. At the age of 9, he bought his first electric guitar for $15.00 with money he earned mowing lawns and shoveling snow. His creative writing talent was noticed by elementary and high school teachers and eventually even by his college professors. His sixth-grade teacher was so impressed, she wanted to call the Denver newspaper but Jeff refused. While living in Denver, at the age of 12, Jeff performed with the Colorado Ballet Company, in a production of the Nutcracker Ballet, which would be performed for the Governor of Colorado. In Tucson, Jeff continued his interest in acting and music, attending acting and music classes and workshops. This would lead to Jeff's background work on the television series "Legend" (1995) starring Richard Dean Anderson and John de Lance, where he worked on five episodes. Jeff also appeared as an extra in "An Unfinished Affair" (1995) with Jennie Garth and Tim Matheson, Vanishing Point (1997) starring Viggo Mortensen, Hijacked Flight 285 (1996) starring Anthony Michael Hall, James Brolin, and Earle Hyman, and Tin Cup (1996), Starring Kevin Costner, Rene Russo and Don Johnson. His songwriting work includes the writing of many songs and a radio jingle. Jeff has also collaborated with Shep Cooke, a former member of The Stone Poneys with Linda Ronstadt. Some songs Shep performed on his Everyday Hero album include; "This Old House", "Mr. Greenman", and "Everyday Hero". As an entrepreneur, Jeff bought and sold 100s of cars and trucks while attending high school and college. In fact, he bought and re-sold his first car at the age of 15, without a driver's license or his Parent's permission. While in college, Jeff founded a PPO dental plan and recruited about 10 local dentists and enrolled 100s of customers into the dental plan. After college he sold the dental plan, and then began buying and selling approximately 200 homes and rental units. As an inventor, he is a Co-Inventor on six U.S. Patent in the area of cellular telephone communications. Jeff has been married to his Wife, for over 32 years and has a Business Degree from the University of Arizona.
