Kevin was born and raised in the mountains near Boulder, Colorado. He has studied and taught physics at Carleton College. Following his survival of an automobile accident which caused a severe Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), he returned to teaching at the University of Colorado and again at Carleton College, and also researching at NIST. However, after years in studying and teaching physics Kevin decided that, because of his experience living with a disability, he could best help others by working to help integrate people with a disability into society by working through the United Church of Christ. He studied and obtained a Master's degree from the Iliff School of Theology. He volunteers as a Disability Inclusion Associate for the United Church of Christ and works to help ALL faith communities become sensitive to and inclusive of people who presently live with disability. Kevin has sung and acted since childhood in school, as well as with the Boulder's Dinner Theater and, more recently, with PHAMALY and Invisible Voices.
