Shelby Howell is a classically trained actor and writer from Phoenix, AZ. Her formal instruction in classical and contemporary theatre began at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts (Hollywood). Additionally, she spent several years developing her skill at Diana Castle's The Imagined Life studio in Los Angeles. Although her features are somewhat angelic, be cautious, this one is more siren than ingenue. Armed with a dry wit and sharp mind, this skeptical spitfire takes no prisoners. Ethical, disciplined, and combative; she's typically too serious to play games. However, if you can convince her to play with you, know that she'll be eighteen moves ahead and you'll never see her coming. You're likely to cast her as the principled journalist with something to prove. She's the career-focused psychologist with no social life. She's the foul-mouthed youth counselor who gets emotionally invested. She's the impatient M.D. who speaks plainly. She's the cynical bartender who does not want a shot "on you". Shelby's most notable performances to date are as the unlikely sage, Dana, the sarcastic SAR volunteer in the Griswold Media film, Paper Cranes. And a vicious portrayal of the titular character in a production of Ibsen's masterpiece, Hedda Gabler.
