Tanya was born at home on a rainy day in Dana Point, California. She was a left-handed, kinesthetic child, often doing things backwards, like when she performed in a ballet recital in a blue sequined leotard and tutu, leaving her back to the audience in the final turn, while the other ballerinas turned to face the audience and curtsy. At age four she played a Native American child in a play that was performed outdoors in the hills of San Juan Capistrano, called Las Cristianitas. At the evening rehearsals she sat in the cool, dusty hills with other kids and adult actors, fascinated as she watched an old woman weaving baskets. Inspired by her older brother that acted in school plays, she became interested in acting and could hardly wait to take acting as an 8th grade elective. She continued to act and take acting classes through High School. During college, she was interested in pursuing psychology as a career, but was called back to acting when she moved to Los Angeles. Tanya has modeled, acted in stage productions, and has been in television, films, and commercials. She loves beauty, the arts, people, and her family. She loves the great outdoors and is especially passionate about being in and around water, particularly hot springs, fresh lakes and rivers. She runs regularly and practices yoga.
