Clare Plueckhahn

Clare Plueckhahn is a multidisciplinary Melbourne based artist whose practice spans across a range of mediums including photography, film and installation. After graduating with distinction from her BA Photography at RMIT, Clare began work as a commercial and fine art photographer. It was during this time she was approached to produce First Love [2010], a feature length documentary focused on female surfers. Her first foray in the moving image, the film went on to win Best Documentary at X Dance in Utah and locked in a 27-cinema deal with Village Roadshow. Three years later, Clare took on the subject of Australia's original child prodigy surfer, Wayne Lynch, in Uncharted Waters [2013] as Director of Photography. Clare has since gone on to produce and direct short films Lunchbreak & Horseplay, produce two solo photography exhibitions First We Fall [2013] & Running With Wolves [2019]. Most recently, Clare was awarded a highly sort after director's attachment on Picnic At Hanging Rock [2017], funded through Film Victoria and a 3-stage directors attachment on Neighbours [2019-2020], where she directed 3 episodes. With an overall artistic slate focused on empowering women and visceral storytelling, Clare loves nothing more than expanding her creative exploration & collaboration.
