Matthew Papadopoulos

Matthew Papadopoulos is an Australian screenwriter and member of the Australian Writers' Guild. His first spec feature screenplay - the screwball comedy The Real Thing (Romantic Comedy/Sci-Fi/Coming-of-Age) - has won and placed in numerous international awards from June 2019: 46 Winner, 39 Finalist, 24 Semi-Finalist, 15 Quarter-Finalist, 2 Other, 14 Official Selection. At the New Media Film Festival (2020), Chelsea Lo Pinto (Director of HBO Program Strategy & Planning) stated that Best Script winner The Real Thing "exemplifies these qualities [innovation and vitality] and, most importantly, adds something to the genre that is unexpected and new".
