Austin Alexander is known for playing Trapp in Antoine Fuqua's Emancipation (2022) (Apple TV+) Dennis Ray Bryant in PBS's Mercy Street (2016), Matt in FOX's series Welcome to Flatch (2022) and roles on AMC's Fear the Walking Dead (2015) & TURN: Washington's Spies (2014), Showtime's The Good Lord Bird (2020), and National Geographic's The Long Road Home (2017). He is an actor, writer, and musician. His love for the arts began as a young child actor in the theatre scene in Houston, TX where he was raised. He spent his summers working on his dad's horse ranch in small town Oklahoma. This tale of two cities upbringing cultivated a deep understanding of people from all walks of life that Austin brings to every role. His life in the arts continued throughout his teenage years spent playing as a multi-instrumentalist in clubs around Texas and persisted through college. He earned Bachelor's degrees in Theater and Creative Writing from St. Edwards University in Austin, Texas. During this time, he honed his craft for acting, production, playwriting, directing, and screenwriting. After graduation, he completed a Meisner-based acting conservatory program under the instruction of Richard Robichaux. While attending conservatory, he quickly booked his first TV role playing Zane in Lifetime's The Preacher's Daughter (2012). Since then, Austin has continued to land lead and supporting roles for TV and Film and steadily built a reputation for portraying compelling and complex characters, while also developing projects of his own. Austin has since worked opposite some of the top stars in Hollywood including Will Smith and Ethan Hawke, and several other well-known names like Seann William Scott, Norbert Leo Butts, Donna Murphy, Theo Rossi, Adan Canto, Austin Amelio, Andrea Bowen, and others.
