Ismaël Saidi

Ismaël Saidi is a show-runner, screenwriter and movie director from Belgium. He has wrote "Rhimou" a TV show witch was a huge success in Morocco and across Europe, viewed by 17 millions of viewers. After five short films (the last one have been selected in the Panorama section of the Venice Film Festival), he was noticed by the network 2M, in Morocco. The fiction department ordered him a comedy and asked him to be the director. "Rhimou" was born in September 2006 and broke all audience records: more than 10 millions viewers the first night of broadcasting. Following the successful TV movie, the network asked him to create his own TV show. Then began a daunting task: to write thirty episodes (1800 pages). He was also the director of the TV-show. Ismael Saidi, who has thirty years, delivers a season to 2M that sprayed records and becomes a social phenomenon. The last episode of the show was watched by 17 millions people in Morocco and a thousands all over the world. All the actors of TV show, previously unknown, became stars. Ismaël Saidi wrote and direct « Ahmed Gassiaux » a historical drama, intimate, on decolonization. The film is still on promotional tour in festivals all around the world. He wrote "Morrocan Gigolo's" a comedy about suburban youth who decide to sell their charms to octogenarians to get some cash. The script won several workshop prices and is in production right now.
